History
When I was little I was always interested in music. When I was about
7 years old I was allready drumming on our furniture with some chinese
sticks!
At the age of 12 I bought me a stereo installation with some money
I had been collecting. It was a
JVC CA-E48. One hell of an installation for that time (I still
have it and it still works perfectly!). I listened to the radio
every day from am to pm.
I went to high school and I needed a computer. On this computer
I wanted to make some music and after searching a long time for
a simple program I got to start making traxx with "Magix Music
Maker". Amateristic for sure but I made my first tracks with
that simple program.
A few years later I became 15 and started to explore the mystic
places of partying and clubbing. I started to buy cd's like Club
system, Lagoa, Zillion, Cherrymoon, ... and I had some friends who
started DJ-ing. The first time I watched DJ Baco spinnig the wheels
@ BeBop Swingcafé I knew I wanted to do what he did. I sometimes
went spinning @ Baco's place but I didn't have my own records so
I wouldn't get very far. Months and months I bought cd's of the
best clubs in Belgium and the best compilations.
And then I was asked to help making a party in Bruges. I wanted
to help because that was one of my dreams, but I wanted to spin
the tables also. I became the warming up DJ for "Knuddefuif".
It was a great party! A few months later we got to "Knuddefuif
part 2"! Again I was the warming-up DJ, but I spinned the wheels
almoust for 6 hours. Some people started to freak on the tracks
I was spinning. From that day I started mixing with my computer.
Meanwhile a friend of mine, DJ Breaze, was spinning the wheels
@ Ravage in Bruges and one day when he couldn't spin the wheels
he asked me if I wanted to spin @ Ravage for an evening, and I did.
My first confrontation with the big public was very succesfull.
I spinned a few times @ Ravage but not enough to became the resident
DJ.
And then, after a few months of inactivity, the Ravage did a DJ-Contest!
I didn't want to join the contest but fredje asked me to join the
contest and I did. In the preselections I was tirth and I became
one of the finalists. One week later I joined the final. I was the
last DJ to spin the wheels and I got nothing to lose beacause I
didn't think to get this far. So I wasn't nervous and just did the
best I could. And I won the contest. One month later I became resident
@ Ravage And spinned the wheels for almoust a year. Meanwhile some
party's filled the holes in my agenda.
